Stamp / Class Room

by on November 29th, 2012

Back again!  This time I have a couple of piccies of my new stamping room!  It’s mostly done now, just need to use it for a while and work out where to put everything, what storage I need.  I’d like to replace the wall cupboards with some other longer ones, and I’m trying not to go over board and imagine custom benches hehe.

I painted the whole room myself and my hubby and I tiled it as well.

Looking in from the front door:

The back wall is Baja Breeze!  Love the colour and had it colour matched perfectly at the paint shop from a piece of cardstock.

Looking from the internal door (had to half close the curtain as the window was so dirty!):

Love my new room.  Plenty of room for classes, I can have about 4 class tables set up very comfortably.  It’s a whole 38 sqm in space.  If you are in Brisbane, I hope you are able to come along to a class in the new year!

Watercolour Crayons Part 2

by on November 28th, 2012

Okay so I spent forever on this post and it then disappeared into CyberSpace… so now I’m running late and will have to just show you the piccies and you can let me know if you have any questions!….

Here’s another couple of examples of Watercolour Crayons.  For this Christmas card (using the Evergreen stamp set) the Old Olive crayon is coloured direct onto the watercolour card very roughly, then go over the crayon colour with the Aqua Painter to blend and disolve the crayon to give that watercoloured look.  Then you can add another colour to give interest (Garden Green) by picking up the colour from the crayon onto the Aqua Painter, then dabbing it onto different areas of the Christmas tree,  The moisture from the Old Olive will help blend the colours together.

Papillion Potpurri stamp set:

The Cotton Ribbon (Holiday Mini) has been coloured using Watercolour Crayons as well:

Daydream Medallion Stamp Set with matching Framelits and the Fancy Favour Die Box:

Clear Embossing Powder resists the Watercolour Crayon

Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Crayons

by on November 27th, 2012

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve even had a chance to think about blogging!  So much has been going on!  A couple of weekends ago Stampin’ Up! held the Brisbane Hearfelt Stamping event.  It was a fantastic, fun day!  I had been asked to do a workshop wow and so prepared some cards using Watercolour Crayon techniques.  Watercolour crayons are fantastic for colouring, shading, and using direct to rubber!  I have a couple of cards to show you today using these techniques and another few that will be posted tomorrow.  So make sure you check back!  Oh and photos of my stamp room in a couple of days time!

Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Crayons used direct onto the rubber stamp (French Foliage Stamp Set), then spritzed with water before stamping onto watercolour paper!

I added a little colour spritzed with the Spritzer tool and a chocolate chip marker.

And the same technique again, this time with a Christmas theme (Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set):

I love how the Stampin’ Up! watercolour crayons come in the four Stampin’ Up! colour families so that every project can be perfect co-ordinated!

See you tomorrow!

Pleasant Poppies

by on October 23rd, 2012

I love this new stamp – Pleasant Poppies.  This card was another make & take we did at our last retreat.  I got the idea from a card I saw online somewhere (can’t remember where now).  I’ve stamped it in Black Stayzon to colour it, and in Versamark to create the “watermark” back ground:

I can’t wait to use this stamp some more!

Googly Ghouls

by on October 19th, 2012

One of the things I love about our new catalogues is the bundles!  Only thing better than fantastic new Stampin’ Up! products, is a discount!!  We have a fantastic Halloween inspired set – Googly Ghouls.  It’s very cute and could be used for many projects even after Halloween!

The stamp set is $28.95 for the wood mount set or $22.95 for the clear mount.  BUT the set also comes in a bundle, complete with:   stamp set, 20 printed double sided tags, 10 glassine bags, 50 self adhesive googly eyes and matching bakers twine!  All this for just $35.95 for the wood mount option or $30.95 for the clear mount stamp set bundle.

You could make some gorgeous, simple Halloween gift bags.  I love the glassine bags – use them plain, or run them through an embossing folder!

Let me know if you’d like to order anything!  And remember all orders over $60 receive a free roll of ribbon.  Details here

Holiday Keepsakes

by on October 14th, 2012

Wow. I didn’t realise it’d been so long since my last post!  I thought I’d posted early Oct, but obviously not!  Sorry!  Today I want to show you one of my favourite new stamp sets from the Holiday Mini Catalogue. – Ornament Keepsakes.  It has endless uses.  It makes this gorgeous decoration (with as many variations as you can think of).  We made this decoration as a part of my Christmas Decoration Class last weekend.  Due to popular demand I’m scheduling another class on Sat Nov 2nd at 1pm if you want to come along.

If you want to make this decoration at home and can’t attend my class, contact me and let me know and I’ll arrange a “class by mail” for you, with all the supplies you need to complete this at home.

This next card is also using the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and matching dies.  We made this a few weeks ago at our weekend stamping retreat.  The colours are Midnight Muse and Cherry Cobbler and the Natural Ivory card for it’s base.

Did you see the new Embossing Folder (Lacy Brocade) and the new Illumiations ink pad used behind the baubles?

The best thing about the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set, is that you can get Framelit Dies that match so you can run them through your Big Shot and not have to hand cut each image!  AND if you purchase the stamp set and Framelit set together it’s discounted by about $15!!!  LOVE it!  Here’s the details:

Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set (set of 9) – $60.95 for the wood mounted set or $48.95 for the Clear Mouned set.

Holiday Ornament Framelit Dies (set of 8) – $42.95

BUNDLED TOGETHER:

Wood Mount Stamp Set + Fremelit dies – $87.95

Clear Mount Stamp Set + Dies – $77.95.

Contact me to order yours today!  AND for the month of October for every $60 you spend you’ll receive a free roll of Stitched Satin Ribbon valued at $15.95!  More details on that HERE

Make sure you check back over the next few days, as I’ve got heaps to share!  My aim this week is to catch up on my exteame lack of blogging! :)
