Australian Convention 2012 (Canberra)
Hi Everyone. We’re all back from Canberra from our Annual Convention. I actually think the weather was more pleasant there than here in Brisbane now! I have a few pics to share with you and some more over the next couple of days. For those who asked about a tutorial for the 3D blossoms from my last post, I’ll get that done for you early next week, after Expo this weekend.
Now I have a few piccies from convention to share with you!
What do 450 Stampin’ Up! Demonsrators do altogether? Swap! - A swap is where we make a number of cards (or other projects) and swap with other demonstrators! So for eg, you may attend convention with 70 of one type of card you’ve made, but you come home with 70 different projects/cards from 70 different demonstrators! This is always such a fun way to start convention and meet up with old and new friends!
Stampin’ Up! give us a bag on check in each year. This year’s was the best ever! Pictures don’t show how cool it is, with soooo many pockets! LOVE IT! (If you keep an eye out tomorrow night you’ll be able to win one!)
And there’s Memento Mall where you get to buy all sorts of goodies – Stampin’ Up! shirts, trinkets, umberellas, pens, etc etc…We were lucky to get in early this year and beat the usual rush. There’s so much, here’s just a tiny part:
And the day began with classes and general session in the afternoon (after lunch and wine): Here’s a group of our team of Demonstrators in among the crowd waiting for general session!
We spent the time being informed, entertained, wow’d as well as some secret sharing on new products coming soon. Check out the fantastic SU staff doing their “happy dance”:
The first night of convention Stampin’ Up! took all demonstrators who were Manager level and above on a surprise visit to Parliment House for Managers Reception! We were treated to dinner, drinks and tid bits of information! Here’s our team there: Colleen, Genelle, Chrissie, Me, Trish and Shannean:
And to finish the fun night we all received a gorgeous gift of a hand decorated frame and NEW stamp set!
That’s really only day one (well if you add in some shopping and a couple of bottles of wine). I’ll try and share some more pics tomorrow! Now it’s off to bed, as I’m still trying to catch up on sleep!
