3D Blossom Tutorial

Saturday, June 16th, 2012

Punch three flowers with the Blossom Punch ($33.95 in the Autumn/Winter Mini).

On two of the blossoms, mark the point in the centre of the flowers.

Cut one petal from one of the flowers.

Cut two petals from the second flower.

Put sticky strip onto one of the petals from each of these two flowers.

Using Daubers, and the same colour ink as the card you are using, sponge around the outer edges of your blossoms.

Using a bone scorer, curl the full blossom upwards slightly.  And curl the two other blossoms backwards.

Take the two blossoms that have a section cut out.  Curl these around and stick them into a cone shape, over lapping one petal, sticking with the Sticky Strip.

Turn them over and cut off the cone tip.  Cut more off the 4 petal flower, and a little less off the 3 petal flower.

Bend the petals of the flowers outwards a little more, and give each petal a little pinch backwards.

Use Crysal Effects to pick the flower together.  You can use glue dots if you don’t want to wait for the Crystal Effects to dry, but Crystal Effects will make sure that the flower is super strong, which is important if you’re using them on something like a canvas.

Put Crystal Effects around the bottom of the flower to stick to the first flower:

hold the flower in place for a minute or two, before adding the second flower.

Using Crystal Effects again, you can stick the second flower into the centre.

Using the 4 petal flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, punch out 3 (Riding Hood Red) flowers and sponge around the edges with the same colour ink.

Leave the first flower flat, curl the second a little, curl the third a lot.

Layer and stick the 3 flowers together.  Add a pearl in the centre.

Using Crystal Effects again, stick the little flower into the centre of the larger, layered flower.  Let dry.

Use your flower as you wish.  A canvas is cute as a whole bunch, you could also use it on a hair clip, broach, gift box and much more!   I’ll post pics in the next few days of this flower totally covered in Crystal Effects!  Turns out very glossy and pretty.  Oh and did someone mention glitter???  Glitter makes everything prettier!

I hope you were able to follow this and enjoy making these flowers as much as I did!  And of course you can contact me if you have any questions or would like to order these punches!!

A quick Blossom Party

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

It was one of the school mum’s birthday last week and I had a box of choccies I wanted to decorate for her.  As I tend to leave everything to the last minute, I was rushing in the morning, before I remembered it was still bare.  A quick colour selection and a boring box of chocolates turn into a pretty gift.  I always say that my favourite thing about Stampin’ Up! is how everything co ordinates easily…  Designer Series Paper & Cardstock in Melon Mambo & Tangerine Tango.. easy.  Blossom Party Die to cut out a couple of flowers and a Happy Birthday stamp (Perfect Punches set) and co ordinating oval puch so I didn’t have to cut a thing by hand.  This literally took me 5 minutes…. the only thing I wasn’t happy with was the glitter in the centre of the flower, but oh well…

Remember Sale A Bration is still running, so make sure you don’t miss out!

Now for a piccie!  Each evening at convention I like to leave a little pillow gift for my room mates!  I found at Coles these little tiny bars of Dove Soap.  I love anything miniture, so thought I’d decorate these somehow as a pillow gift.  I used some Play Date patterned paper and then went searching for a stamp to use on it!  Was a little happy to find a stamp in the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set that went perfectly!  Add a matching Old Olive washer  and I thought it turned out very cute!

Milk Carton Die – Bird House!

Saturday, September 11th, 2010

So here it is finally, another way for you to use the Milk Carton Die and it’s just tooo cute!  Along with the Two Step Bird Punch, it makes a gorgeous little birdhouse!!

Very very easy to do!  Simply whip the Milk Carton Die through the Big Shot with some Crumbcake Cardstock.  Before assembling, Punch a 1 1/4″ Circle from one side and stamp with Woodgrain background stamp in the new Crumb Cake Ink.  Assemble your Milk Carton.  Make a “roof” with Soft Suede Cardstock and the Scallop Edge Punch, and punch out the bird with the 2 Step Bird Punch!  Easy!  I’ve also sponged a little shading around the little birdie!

Drawer Gift Box

Friday, July 30th, 2010

I just wanted to share with you, another lovely pressie I was given at convention this year.  This was from Lyn and I fell in love with it right away!  It’s many things!  A lovely gift box:

With 4 drawers that Lyn filled with goodies:

She’s decorated it beautifully using Rich Razzleberry and the Cottage Wall DSP.  And the other clever thing is that if you undo the ribbon, the top opens up into the card!  She’s so clever and lives on the Gold Coast if you are in that area!  I felt so honoured that she thought of me, and like I said I just loved it!

Well that’s it from me today!  Keep your eye peeled over the weekend!  Very exciting things happening,  Saturday night at midnight, the Stampin’ Up! ”Last Chance” list will be announced… these are all the stamp sets that will not be going into the next Catalogue (starting Sept 1st) and so the items on this list will be avilable only while stocks last… So check back as I’m sure I’ll be here at midnight tomorrow night posting that list for you! (Well I’ll be home from celebrating my daughter’s 7th birthday so I’m not waiting up just for the list…. or am I? heheh)

Simply Scrappin’ Kit Mini Purse.

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

I received so many lovely gifts at convention this year and one was a gorgeous Mini Purse from my good friend Trish.  I loved the concept and so Trish passed on the instructions she had  for the purse so I could make my own!  Here’s the one Trish gave me.. It was full of goodies, decorated to co ordinate of course!

I decided to use the Simply Scrappin Kit – Sunny Day for my purse!  It’s a bright and cheery kit and I love the papers and die cuts in it!  This kit is from the current Autumn/Winter Mini catalogue, and the pics of these kits in the catalogues never do them justice!  There’s so much in them and they’re always so much prettier than the pictures in the catalogues show.  So here’s my Mini Purse:

I made it for my best friend Jenny who’s birthday it is on Sunday, hence the “j” on the flower.

I actually made a little purse for Trish for convention as well (though I forgot to take a pic), but it also had a ribbon handle and before putting the ribbon onto the purse I sprayed it with hair spray which stiffened the ribbon beautifully.  I would have done that to this purse if an unnamed 10 yo hadn’t decided to use the rest of my hairpray up for a recent school disco LOL..  Anyway just a tip I thought you may like!

Oh and check back tomorrow!  I’ve actually sceduled another post!  I know… hard to believe! LOL

Team Get Together

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Another fantastic thing about convention, is being able to catch up with our team members!  We planned a get together for this afternoon and I wanted to make a little gift for each team member who attended.  This is what I came up with ( thanks to Kay), a little box for each person, with their initial on the front.  Here they are all packed up in a nice sturdy box, ready to go into my luggage (let’s hope they survive the trip down).

Each box has a belly band, that when you take them off, reveals some decorated chocolates!

I’ve used to Cottage Garden Designer Series Paper to decorate the boxes as well as the colours Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Orchid Oppulence.
