Christmas Cards ‘09!

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

What a busy time it’s been!  I assume everyone is busy this time of year though! :)

Over here the kids finished school last Friday so we had break ups etc, My In Laws were here for a week to visit, we had our Stampin’ Up regionals training day and our team Christmas dinner afterwards, I helped my best friend move into her new house, and my hubby and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary with a weekend away….  And this was all within a week! LOL  But having said that I got most of my Christmas cards sent a few weeks ago now, though there are some more to do…  So I thought I’d show you two of this year’s Christmas cards.  I used the stamp set Snow Swirled and some “bling” which I’m a little addicted to at the moment!  The pics just don’t show how cute and sparkly they are IRL!

Gift Bags..

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

With Christmas coming, packaging gifts often needs to be quick and easy.  I made a couple of other gifts for last weekend and these bags were perfect to package them in.  They come plain white, from an art and craft shop and they’re made out of this fabric/material stuff, but it’s light and DO NOT try to heat set or emboss any ink onto them as they will melt immediately! ;)   You can see the fabric better in the last pic.  I stamped directly onto them with our Classic Ink pads, and used the Cropodile to add some holes for ribbon and a rhinestone brad to hold the bag closed.  Then a little tag as well!  Easy and very cute!

The first one was a little gift for one of our team members who promoted to Supervisor just last week!  I added a few goodies from our Stampin’ Up! Momento Mall at convention this year…  I used the Priceless stamp set to stamp with:

Next was a little gift for a fellow Demonstrator with some Body Shop goodies inside…  This time decorated with the Flower Fancy set:

And finally a little Christmas pressie Gift Bag…Decorated with the Circle Circus stamp set:

Merry Christmas Star Wreath

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Now here’s a project that took a little time!  This is a Kaisercraft Star Wreath that comes as raw MDF.  I LOVED the idea but it took a bit of time to separate the stars, sand them, paint the edges and finally cover them with Designer Series Paper – Ski Slope!  Keep in mind this Ski Slope paper is only available until the end of this month, so make sure you order yours now!!

I’ve added chipboard letters from the On Board Loads of Letters (p146, IB&C), inked them with Chocolate Chip and Real Red and then covered the letters with Crystal Effects to give that gorgeous shine!  A few added bits and pieces like ribbon, rhinestone brads, corduroy buttons (again order these before the end of the month!) and a bit glitter (you can’t see that in the pic) and this is the result!!

Little Window Box Tutorial

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

I made a little box just before convention this year as a little pressie for some lovely friends.  I’ve been asked for a while for the instructions and FINALLY had put them together with a little Christmas box!  So here it is:

tbox_01

1.  Cut cardstock 21cm x 28cm.

2.  Score along 21cm side at 1.5cm, 8.4cm and 16.3cm

3.  Score along the 28cm side at 1.6cm, 8.1cm, 14.8cm, 21.3cm and 28cm. Your card should look like this.

4.  Cut along lines as per picture.  (click to make bigger) Leave the flaps with the indicated measurements.

5. Round corners with punch as per picture.

8.  On the inside of the box, stick a piece of clear acetate over the window.

9.  Now stick your box together with sticky strip.

10.  Now decorate your box!

I have a little bag of Lindt Christmas Chocolates in this box and decorated the box to co ordinate with them.  It wasn’t until I was finished that I realised that my “christmas” box looked more like 4th of July! LOL  Oh well.

The stamps used for this box are from Spotlight on Christmas.

And here’s the first box that I decorated before convention.  This one using Petal Pizzazz, Build A Brad and the Curly Label Punch for the window.

And finally…Where did I get my inspiration for these boxes from originally!!!  From here:……

aunzspringmini09

It’s the first of Aug and so the NEW Spring Mini catalogue begins!  I couldn’t get into my web site for some reason to update everything but if you’d like to see a copy of the Mini you can see it online HERE  I have lots to show you using new products but firstly here’s a card using one of new new Christmas sets – Season’s Surfin’.  Not a set I was thrilled on, but I had a lot of fun colouring it in and think the card turned out okay!  The patterened paper is also from the mini – Ski Slope Designer Series Paper!  LOVE LOVE this paper!

Well hopefully I’ve scheduled this post correctly, as about now, I’ll be out at Breakfast, with my daughter and my best friend Jenny.  It is BOTH of their birthdays on the 1st of Aug!  So we’re heading out, just the three of us, to our fav place for breakfast – The Stamford Plaza.  Jasmine’s 6 and Jenny, well let’s just say she’s a year older than me! hehe.   It will be a big weekend with family over tomorrow night for dinner and then Jasmine’s party on Sunday!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Christmas Already?

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Well half the year is gone so I thought it would be fun to make a Christmas card.  I used the enjoy set, which isn’t really a Christmas set, but I used just the JOY from the work ENJOY, as well as turning the circle image into some baubles!  The colours are Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy & Kiwi Kiss.  Don’t you just love the Eyelet Border Punch!!  I’ve layered it onto of itself at the bottom too.  And remember the new Mini Catalogue starts on Aug 1st (let me know if you’d like a copy), and I can’t wait to show you some new stuff from it!  Check back on the 1st when we’re allowed to show you some of the new goodies!!
