Australasian Scrapbook Expo 2010

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Well it’s come and gone.  Another Australiasian Scrapbook Expo is over!  A huge weekend and lots of fun.  We were thrilled to meet so many people and chat about Stampin’ Up!   We ran 2 classes a day which saw attendees make a total of 60 mini albums, 60 boxes, 60 purses, 60 note cards and about 900 cards!  (Will be offering these classes by mail in the next few days so keep your eye out!)   I didn’t get a chance to take any pics but my gorgeous friend Alison did… so here’s a couple:

Day Two… Chrissie, Shelly, Me, Vanessa and Tina:

Love this Pic – Tina, Me, Chrissie and Vanessa

And at the end of a long day spent on our feet, stamping, demonstrating, talking….

Our team has such a wonderful and fun bunch of girls… the weekend went quickly and I was thrilled to be a part of it!  Looking forward to next year already!

Will be back tomorrow to post the new Deal of the Week!

Expo coming…

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

I know…. no posts again…. but I have a good excuse this time!  Myself and some of my wonderful team members have a stand at the Australasian Scrapbook Expo here in Brisbane this weekend!  Come by and say hi, we’ll have demonstrations, a make and take and displays!  Chrissie and I are also running 2 classes each day… and that’s where I’ve been!  Cutting and more cutting of cardstock, patterened paper and more cardstock!  We make a wonderful mess the other night and had to finish up on the floor, cutting and packing! Here’s Chrissie on the floor of my stamp room amongst paper and card scraps! (The kindy kids had a ball with them the next day!)

Anyway so make sure you check out this weeks “Deals of the Week” and let me know if you’d like to take advantage of them!  Hope to see you on the weekend!

Stampin’ Up! Convention 2010 – Sydney

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Well we’re home after an exciting weekend.  We must thank our hotel for the fire alarm waking and evacuating us twice in one night.. We won’t be staying there again! LOL.  I won’t completely fill the next 5 pages with photos, so I’ll just post a few…. Thursday night my team of Demonstrators met in my room.  We all brought swaps along (where we all make lots of the same item and swap with eachother so we all go home with many great ideas) .  It was great to be able to meet up with team members from around Australia that we usually only speak to through the internet and phone.

Stampin’ Up! held Managers Reception Thursday night where we were greeted with gorgeous cakes and decadant hot chocolateserved in these gorgeous mugs… Which we were thrilled to be able to take home (a clean one LOL) with the matching stamp.  And here’s Me, Ruth and Jenny:

Unfortunately the first night in the hotel was far too exciting with our fire alarm going off twice, which meant far too long standing in our PJ’s on a cold street in Sydney, but again it was a great opportunity to mingle with many other Demonstrators staying there!…

Day one of convention was rather exciting!  New stamps from the coming (in Sept) Idea Book & Catalogue.  Lots of talking, laughing and a bit of learning too! :)   Here’s Tina, Chrissie and Alice about to enter!  And the room of happy demonstrators.  I will have so many great projects to show you over the coming months… Far too many to post here now.

 stampin up convention

Convention went by in a blur and soon it was the last evening already… We were lucky to sit with Shelli & Sterling.  It was Tina’s first convention and she was totally thrilled! :)   We had a little trouble fitting in everyone for a team photo… I think there are a couple of heads missing in there..

Dinner was rather exciting with the announcement that our next incentive trip will be in Fiji!  And it wasn’t just an announcement…

There were the yearly awards given out as well and I was completely amazed to find out I was #8 Demonstrators in the top 25 Demonstrators for 2009/2010…  I didn’t expect that!  I also received awards for recruiting and leadership, and sales.  I was very proud to see that Ruth and Mandy in our team also received awards for recruiting and sales!

That’s all I have to post today, like I said I tried to it to a summary…  So much happends over convention, that it’s far too hard to post everything.  We do have a great special though, that I’ll pop in here and post about again later.  If you are thinking of joining Stampin’ Up!,  from now until the end of July you’ll receive 20% off the starter kit!  So make sure you contact me with any questions you may have.  I’m happy to send you any info, answer your questions, and support you in your Stampin’ Up! journey.  Have a look at the Join Stampin’ Up! page on my web site too…  We’d love to have you join our team!

I’m back…

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

So it’s been quiet here AGAIN! LOL  Lots been happening.  Firstly, one of my children who will remain unnamed (though if you know my kids you’ll be able to guess who) managed to kill my laptop.  Thankfully my hard drive was saved (phew) but all my old emails were lost :(   But we’re back on track with a new laptop and I’m in the process of re organising my files and pics etc.  Then we headed off to Melbourne for the Easter Break with my husband’s entire family!  It was a great week and the kids had a ball together with their  cousins.  Very exciting news also came that week about a ”renovation” of the Stampin’ Up! Colour families! (It was very flattering to find how many demonstrators thought of me and rang to share the info knowing I was on holidays!)  I’ll add the links to link at the end of the post.  Then the NEXT weekend was our Stampin’ & Scrappin’ Retreat weekend!  Phew!  That was again an awesome weekend away.  So here I have two of the make and takes from the weekend.  As well as a couple of the girls hard at work!

First this is a little Scallop Circle Flower Gift Bag!  Very cute and easy to make.

And Celia very excited by hers!

And next was a card using a great new set from our Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue called Fox & Friends.  See the “dotty” background.  That’s made with our Polka Dot Embossing Folder and our Big Shot!  I like this so much I think I’ll make some extras as swaps at our coming Stampin’ Up! convention!

And we’re all set to do it again this October!  It’s on the Halloween weekend and there’s just 3 spaces remaining!  And today I have opened bookings for our first retreat next year - March 25th – 27th.  Let me know if you’d like to come along!

Finally.  The new “Colour Collections” that will launch in our New Idea Book & Catalouge in September this year.  Here’s a list of all the colours that are GOING!  That means if you have the ink pads, it may be a good idea to order the re inker and/or cardstock now while you can!  And if you don’t have them, get in now!

Well this was a rather long post… hoping to make up for my absence! :)   I do have quite a few more projects to show you and I’ll schedule them to pop up over the next few days!  So make sure you check back!

Card Keeper Class, be organised for 2010!

Here’s some pics to give you an idea how it works:

October retreat 09

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Well I must say I had an awesome weekend at our retreat!  I never know what I enjoy more, the people, the stampin time or the fact that I don’t have to cook for three days!!! Here’s a few piccies I’d like to share!:

retreat7 retreat8

Now these girls have been with me since the beginning of Stampin’ Up!  They are one of my original groups of customers and I have always loved doing workshops for them as they live within a street of eachother and their workshops are always fun!  Early on I referred to them (mainly in my head) as “The Warner Girls”  They have attended all three of my retreats and the last retreat they discovered (I’m stil not sure how :) my nickname” for them.  They told me they expected a “Warner Girls” sign for next retreat, which I provided on their unit door (forgot to take a piccie of that)  But the funniest thing was that they turned up with awesome T Shirts as well!!!!

Now another thing I love about retreat is the total mess we can make, and how everyone loves to bring as many supplies as possible!!!  On the way out to dinner on evening, I looked over the room and it was so great to see such a total mess of stamping and scrapbooking supplies!!! (you can click the pics to see it better)

retreat4

I also love seeing the challenges that I set for everyone.  Here’s the submissions from the first two challenges:

retreat5

The third Challenge was a hard one – simply a Stampin’ Up! Cello Bag and a piece of linen thread… I’ll show you more tomorrow but this one made by a cheeky Trish Myers made me chuckle (again click to enlarge)

retreat6

There are just too many pics to put here, and I’ll pop back tomorrow to show you some of the make and takes we did as well as other entries for the third challenge!!  I think I have finally caught up on my sleep and am taking bookings for next years retreatS!!!!  Yes there will be two again – April 16th to 18th and October 29th to 30th .  These are both already heavily booked so if you are interested in attending let me know ASAP and I can give you more info and how to book as well!!!

More from convention…

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Firstly, to answer Karen’s question…yes all that chocolate was eaten!  LOL  I really didn’t think it would be! LOL

Now just another couple of piccies from convention.  I spent most of my time talking so missed taking pics of things like memento mall (where I spent more than I’d like to admit) But I could post a million pics of all the wonderful demonstrators I got to chat to, but I won’t as we’d be here all day.   Day two was heaps of fun again!  Lots to learn and lots of inspiration!  Second day saw the awards night dinner, where we got to dress up all pretty and have a lovely three course dinner. I so enjoyed everyone at our table!  Chrissy, Me, Alice, Trish, Venessa, Leanne, Mandy & Jenny:

dinner2 day2f dinner

Then after dinner we heard all the great awards from the previous Stampin’ Up! year.  I was lucky enough to earn the Incentive Trip again this year, but NEVER for a moment, thought I’d make the top 25.  So on check in I was a little surprised to find a top 25 pin in my bag, but more so surprised, when they were announcing the top 25.  I expected to be #25, 24, 23, 22, 21…but no,  I was #11!!!  I also received a recruiting award, leadership award and sales award.  I was also thrilled that 4 of my team members also received sales awards!  So it was a very exciting night!  Here’s me, 8th from the right..

day2b

And here’s our team, who were able to attend convention (thought Laraine was naughty and ran off and missed the pic LOL)

day2g

Now the next morning as we boarded the plane for our flight back to Brisbane, Alice, Venessa (Nessy, hehe), Trish (Trishy, hehe) and myself on the same flight, sitting together.  We are not sure why, but within 5 minutes of us all taking our seats, the air hostess (is that what they are called these days?)  gave us each a glass of Champagne!!

home1

We had no idea why, as no one else on the plane got any, but gee were we pleased!  We were of course feeling a little sad the weekend was over, so what a way to end our trip!  We did get spoiled and three different staff on that flight (go Qantas) were AMAZING…….so….. what does a bunch of stampers do when they want to say thanks!!  Make a card!  Except we were up in a plane!  But we discovered that I had some ink pads and the convention stamp set “Trendy Trees”, Venessa had a little chocolate box I had made and given her and Trish had a tag off her convention award, So put those things together and…..

home2 home3

But then I wanted to stamp another “thank you” in a different colour, but without scrap paper, and no stampin’ scrub to clean the stamp I resorted to a quick lick and a wipe on the pants, but then Alice noticed that a tongue isn’t the best stamp cleaner…

home5

But it was all good in the end when we thanked our lovely hostess’ for the delightful flight home!

home6

Well that’s it from me, I think I’ve made a fool of myself enough today!  I’ve spent the afternoon cleaning up my stamp room so hopefully I’ll be back soon with more creations to share with you!  We have our Annual Retreat coming up at the end of the month, followed two weeks later with the Australiasian Scrapbook Expo here in Brisbane, where we are having a stall!  So we’re in for a very busy month to come!

Oh and I’ll be in tomorrow to let you know who wins my blog candy from the other day!!!

Busy busy! (New Catalogue Launch)

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

Again, it’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I’ve been busy and have lots to share over the next few days!  Firstly we had our catalogue launch last weekend which I totally enjoyed!  I must be getting better at organising these events as I didn’t forget anything crucial AND I didn’t feel as stressed either!  A big thanks to the help of my team member Jenny who helped with organising the goodie bags for everyone!  She also did a great demo on the day and so did Tina!    It was a great day and so much fun catching up with everyone and meeting some new faces too!  Here are a couple of pics from the day, which were taken on my phone so apologies for the quality!

Watching Jenny’s demo of the Build a Brad (see note below) and Fresh Cuts during 1st session:

Concentrating during our afternoon session….(Robyn and Lynda will kill me for this one! LOL)

launch2

And here is one of  the projects we completed!!! (Haven’t taken pics of the others yet) Using Upsy Daisy in Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette and Pacific Blue.

upsy_kgavarra1 upsy_kavarra2

And I need to add one last thing – after the launch, I was chatting to a couple of my team members about the Build a Brad and it’s possibilities.  Now Chrissie came up with the idea to put a photo into the brad.  I thought that was a little funny and would require a TINY photo!  Now Chrissy took this as a challenge and I’m not sure how I got involved in this, but she laughed that she’d put MY face into a brad…Haha yeah right I thought!!!  Well here is her result….. And I must say I have a plan too so watch out Chrissie – I’ll post at the end of the week! HAHA!!!  Chrissie’s Build a Brad card..

WCD 2008!

Even my daughter Britney got to enjoy the day!

And here are the projects we made!

First we had a stamp a stack in the morning where we made (total of 12 cards):

And then after our yummy lunch of chicken, greek salad, zuccini slice, ham, and some hot filo pastries, we made another 4 projects:

A box in a Bag, Chocolate slider and Christmas tag pouch, Free Standing slider card,

And a suspension card! (I cased this from somewhere)

Everyone got to go home with 17 things that they made!  We also had lots of lucky door prizes  and our WCD raffles were won by (third) Theresa, (second) Leanne T and (first) Jenny H!!
