3D Blossom Tutorial

Saturday, June 16th, 2012

Punch three flowers with the Blossom Punch ($33.95 in the Autumn/Winter Mini).

On two of the blossoms, mark the point in the centre of the flowers.

Cut one petal from one of the flowers.

Cut two petals from the second flower.

Put sticky strip onto one of the petals from each of these two flowers.

Using Daubers, and the same colour ink as the card you are using, sponge around the outer edges of your blossoms.

Using a bone scorer, curl the full blossom upwards slightly.  And curl the two other blossoms backwards.

Take the two blossoms that have a section cut out.  Curl these around and stick them into a cone shape, over lapping one petal, sticking with the Sticky Strip.

Turn them over and cut off the cone tip.  Cut more off the 4 petal flower, and a little less off the 3 petal flower.

Bend the petals of the flowers outwards a little more, and give each petal a little pinch backwards.

Use Crysal Effects to pick the flower together.  You can use glue dots if you don’t want to wait for the Crystal Effects to dry, but Crystal Effects will make sure that the flower is super strong, which is important if you’re using them on something like a canvas.

Put Crystal Effects around the bottom of the flower to stick to the first flower:

hold the flower in place for a minute or two, before adding the second flower.

Using Crystal Effects again, you can stick the second flower into the centre.

Using the 4 petal flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, punch out 3 (Riding Hood Red) flowers and sponge around the edges with the same colour ink.

Leave the first flower flat, curl the second a little, curl the third a lot.

Layer and stick the 3 flowers together.  Add a pearl in the centre.

Using Crystal Effects again, stick the little flower into the centre of the larger, layered flower.  Let dry.

Use your flower as you wish.  A canvas is cute as a whole bunch, you could also use it on a hair clip, broach, gift box and much more!   I’ll post pics in the next few days of this flower totally covered in Crystal Effects!  Turns out very glossy and pretty.  Oh and did someone mention glitter???  Glitter makes everything prettier!

I hope you were able to follow this and enjoy making these flowers as much as I did!  And of course you can contact me if you have any questions or would like to order these punches!!

Little Window Box Tutorial

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

I made a little box just before convention this year as a little pressie for some lovely friends.  I’ve been asked for a while for the instructions and FINALLY had put them together with a little Christmas box!  So here it is:

tbox07

tbox_01

1.  Cut cardstock 21cm x 28cm.

2.  Score along 21cm side at 1.5cm, 8.4cm and 16.3cm

3.  Score along the 28cm side at 1.6cm, 8.1cm, 14.8cm, 21.3cm and 28cm. Your card should look like this.

8.  On the inside of the box, stick a piece of clear acetate over the window.

tbox05

9.  Now stick your box together with sticky strip.

tbox06

10.  Now decorate your box!

I have a little bag of Lindt Christmas Chocolates in this box and decorated the box to co ordinate with them.  It wasn’t until I was finished that I realised that my “christmas” box looked more like 4th of July! LOL  Oh well.

The stamps used for this box are from Spotlight on Christmas.

And here’s the first box that I decorated before convention.  This one using Petal Pizzazz, Build A Brad and the Curly Label Punch for the window.

And finally…Where did I get my inspiration for these boxes from originally!!!  From here:……

Chocolate Folder – New version

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

What a busy time we’ve had lately!  The first week of the school holidays we spent at 1770 camping for a week!  We had a fabulous time (amazing considering I’m not thrilled on camping)!  My gorgeous little boy turned 8 on Monday  and the kids are back to school this week!  I’m very busy making up little pressies for our Stampin’ & Scrappin Retreat at the end of the month but I do have something to show you that’s been sitting in my pictures for a while:

You may remember the Chocolate Folder I designed 12 months ago to go with the Cadbury 8 Moments chocolates.. Well now that those chocolates are no longer available I have found that Aldi sell the same sized ones that fit perfectly! YAY!!!  And they actually taste good too!  So I made a new chocolate folder using the same stamp set (Enjoy Every moment) and current papers (Urban Garden)

Hope you are all getting time to stamp!!!

Incentive Trip Swap – Envelope Card with Gift card holder.

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Well it’s about time I showed you the swaps I made for our Incentive Trip Swap.  It’s an envelope card that I altered a little.  I made two inserts for it, one to write a message on, the other has two slots so you can put in a gift card!

This is the front, held closed with the belly band:

Here’s the inside of the card:

And here are all the pieces and inserts:

I got the original idea from a lovely demonstrator called Angie.  You can see hers and her instructions HERE.  But have changed the measurements a little for mine so that the tabs stick out at the top.  Here are my measurements:

Real Red cardstock cut – 21.4cm x 12.2cm, then scored at 4cm and 13.2cm.  Use scallop edge punch on the 4cm section.

The whisper white C6 envelope is cut in half and stuck to the inside of the real red card base.

The inserts are both 10.4cm x 7.8cm (coloured cardstock) and 10cm x 7.4cm for the whisper white to layer on top.

The belly band is 3cm wide.

The gift card holder section is made using the Stampin’ Up! slot punch.

Colours used are Real Red, Summer Sun & Tempting Turquoise as well as Pink Flamingo Designer Series Paper.

Hope you like it!

Carousel Notes Purse

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Yes it’s been a while….again.  Thank you to anyone who hasn’t given up on me and still checks in! LOL  It’s been school holidays for the last two weeks and it’s been wonderful to be able to stay in bed a little longer since it’s winter and all!  We actually did very little these holidays and it’s been lovely.  We’ve got a wonderful bunch of kids who live on the street and so at any given time there’s many kids running in and out and I love seeing them altogether playing hide and seek, on their rip sticks or playing in the backyard.  On top of all this I decided to paint – the house!  Well it started with a couple of feature walls and resulted in all the walls needing to be painted to match!  And so with the holidays, much of the painting was done late at night! LOL  Anyway you’re not here to hear me babble!

Here’s a carousel notes purse!  These have been around for a little while and I just love the concept, so made another with the current in colours, designer series papers and carousel notes.  Here are a few pics, you can click to make them bigger:

Firstly the front of the purse, which you then open:

Each side of the inside, with space left to add pics or journalling:

carousel2  carousel3

The middle section – notice the gorgeous Flower Fusion felt flowers.  And buttons that match too!  No, not matching thread, just a thin strip of cardstock through the middle of the buttons.

carousel4  carousel5

And finally, there are two hidden pull out sections that you can add more pics or journalling to!:

carousel6

Now the details

Carousel Notes (12 cards in each pack in 2 colours incl envelopes) $23,95 (you need 3 per purse so you’ll get up to 4 purses per pack of carousel notes!)

Urban Garden Designer Series Paper (12 sheets 12×12) $16.95

Dreams du Jour stamp set (set of 4) $33,95.

And I used various other bits of ribbon, buttons, etc to embellish.

You can contact me if you’d like to order anything to make your own!  And if you’d like the instructions to make yours here they are by the great JanTink  HERE

Flower Pot Card

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Now here’s a card I totally love!  It’s a little different and so cute!  The glitter on the flowers don’t come up so well in the pic.  This card is part of an upcoming class, but if you can’t make it to my class, there is a great tutorial by Stephanie HERE

I’ve used one of our new stamp sets Petal Pizzazz, which I’m so glad I bought!  Here’s the card (which fits into a C6 envelope).  I’ve posted this card to a couple of new team members, so I hope they like it!

Enjoy Tutorial…finally

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Sorry for the wait!  Here are the measurements for the previous chocolate folder!  The great thing about this also is that it only take 1 piece of cardstock with some extra for decoration!

1.  From an A4 piece of cardstock, along the long side, cut at 15cm and then score this piece at 10.5cm.  This is your card base.  Take the other piece and cut to 20.5cm x 14.5cm.  Score along 20.5cm side at 1.5cm, 2.8cm, 17.7cm & 19cm.  Then along shorter (14.5cm) side score at 5cm & 6.3cm.  You will get two pieces like in this pic (though you can’t see the score lines very well)

2.  Put the card base aside, now you’ll be working with the other piece.  With scissors, cut the the bottom two corner sections out:

3.  Add tape and stick box together, cut out the top part of the sides..

4.  Look on the side of the box, cut the top part on a small angle:

Now you can stick this to the card base!  First put the ribbon between the two:

Now you can decorate your chocolates and folder!  I punched holes with the slot punch to thread through the ribbon to keep the folder closed:  The Chocolates were wrapped in paper measuring 7.5cm x 6.5cm.

Well I hope that all makes sense and you have fun making your own!  Remember to buy an extra pack of Chocolates to eat practice on!!
