Butterfly…

I think most of us in Brisbane have got webbed feet by now.  As much as I LOVE rainy weather (I grew up in Nth Qld so you get used to it) I must say I am officially over the rain right now.  We’re lucky not to have flooding like some parts of QLD, and it’s been so wonderfully cool the kids have pulled out their flannelette PJ’s some nights!  So we should look on the bright side…. but I would like a day or two of bright sun! LOL  Maybe that’s why I’ve been using so much yellow lately!!!

So off the topic of yellow, here’s a card I made for my good friend and long time stamper Sue (Sue’s going to have a blog onces she’s done with her big move! LOL)  I’m sure I saw this idea somewhere.

Don’t forget that this gorgeous Butterfly Punch is in our current Mini Catalogue and will disappear at the end of the month, so make sure you get your order in before it flitters away!

Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly, Inspired by Nature.  Colours: Elegant Eggplant, Tangerine Tango, Lavender Lace, Kiwi Kiss, Garden Green.

Now if you are thinking of joining Stampin’ Up! make sure you contact me as I have a great little special for anyone who joins us, by the end of the month!!!

A little birdie.

Well my three child free days haven’t ended up as stamping days! :(  Mum and Dad bought a new “branch” of their business and the office was dumped with boxes and boxes of files…  So I’ve been hired! LOL  It was definately weird dropping off the kids at school and going to “work” and I must admit to thinking often “I could be at home stamping right now” during the day… So I’m glad the job’s just temporary, although at this stage there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight! :)  So today I finally got to stamp again.  With new stamps and accessories arriving next week I’m making an effort to use some of the supplies that I’ve been hoarding for a while…..  Today was Chipboard!  Birdie to be exact!  This one’s an easle card.

Colours: Pacific Point, Summer Sun, Chocolate Chip.  Paper: Good Morning Sunshine.  On Board So Tweet Chipboard.

Everyone needs a bit of sparkle!

Well my stamping today didn’t go all that successfully.  I didn’t end up using the colour combo I intented to, and after making one card I can’t show you as it’s off to a friend who I was told today reads my blog DAILY (do you think she realises I update my blog about once a month? LOL), I decided it was about time I used some of the Sticky Cuts I have.  Actually I have both packs and have used none, other than for demoing!!!  So with the child free hours disappearing, I made a quick card, full of SPARKLE!… I’m rather partial to a bit of bling! :)  Both the white rub on greeting (yes I know it’s a little crooked LOL)  and the white jumbo grommet are in our current Summer Mini…

sticky_stampinup_kgavarra

Glitter doesn’t show up all that well in pics, so here’s another look…

sticky_kgavarra_stampinup

This card is off to one of our team members.  Now I have a bit of a tip when using the rub ons…  I couldn’t work out why I just couldn’t get them to stick very well and would press so hard I’d leave an indent in the cardstock….Well I think I’ve worked it out!  I usually stamp on a pad of Stampin’ Up! grid paper…  this is never an issue, but today I realised that it you use your rub ons, with your cardstock directly onto a table top (so there’s no spongyness), there’s hardly any pressure needed and the rub ons adhere EASILY!!  Well derrr I hear you say!  :)   Hey, I love having a moment of discovery!

Well that ends my third post in three days!  I won’t be in tomorrow as I’m off for lunch with my good friend, but let’s hope I’m back early next week!!

Another!

I must say that after 10 1/2 years of having babies and toddlers in the house,  having all 4 kids at school (well Holly for 3 days a week) it’s a little quiet at home and as much as I miss them… it’s lovely!!  My washing is getting folded promptly, jobs are getting done and I’ve even had more time to stamp!!  Hence the two posts in two days!  Obviously I’m having a bit of a yellow/orange phase at the moment…and this card is very similar to yesterday’s layout, but this time I’ve used Designer Series Paper from the Haiku pack and the colours Tangerine Tango and So Saffron.

hai_kgavarra_stampinup

I wanted to add a touch of Tangerine Tango (it looks red in the pic) to the middle of the Flower brads, and so I mixed a little Crystal Effects with a touch of Tangerine Tango Reinker, then dabbed the mix with a needle into the centre of the brad and allowed it to dry…..

I even have a colour combination picked out for tomorrow’s card!!  So make sure you check back tomorrow night!…well hopefully, in this mad house, you never know what tomorrow will bring! LOL

Hello again!

Yes I know I’ve been a bit of a slack blogger!  Have gotten caught up with some classes, workshops and our team get together yesterday!    I had the day to myself today and I played with a little stamp set called Hello Again!  It’s only $21.95 and so cute and versatile!  I also used the matching wheel “Retro Remix” in versamark.   I’m really liking the colour Summer Sun at the moment and used it along with Old Olive and Cameo Coral.

Sweet Treat Petals

Well after nearly 11 years of having children and babies at home, I must say I’m enjoying the three days a week that I now have child FREE!!!  It’s sooo quiet!!

I finally got to play with the Sweet Treat Cups last week - they’re in the current Summer Mini (p8) and you get 12 in a pack for $6.50.   They come with a sticky side, so that they simply stick to your project.  You can add seeds, buttons, glitter etc or there’s plenty of ways around to make little access holes to slide open and get out the treats you put inside…but I wanted to make mine a little different so here’s what I did.

I stamped the big flower from the Petal Pizzazz set in Tangerine Tango, as well as the leaves in Kiwi Kiss and “See You Around” Jumbo Wheel in the background on Summer Sun.

 cup_kgavarra1

The Treat Cup is filled with M&M’s!  Notice no reds and blues…. couldn’t waste those! hehe…

cup_kgavarr21

So to get into the cup, just remove the brad, and spin the flower section…

And from behind, you simply slide out the insert and there’s the M&M’s!!!

And guess what!  My card STILL has the M&M’s in them!  I’m so proud of myself for not eating them yet!!!
