Back from retreat

It was very hard to get out of bed yesterday morning!  Over the weekend we had one of our two yearly retreats.  This one was a little smaller than usual as the retreat centre could only accomodate less than 30 of us this time, but it was still HEAPS of fun, got very little sleep, actually Jenny, Vanessa and Sam didn’t sleep at all the first night!  Here’s a view of part of our work area:

   And me with Chrissie:

One of the make and takes we did over the weekend was using a technique called Inlaid Embossing.  Everyone had the option of the flower or star card:

I love this technique!  It’s done firstly by cuting the flowers with the Blossom Party Big Shot Die (or the stars with star punches).   These are stuck to the top not die shape and then all run through the Big Shot with the Lattice Embossing Folder!  This Embossing Folder is in our current mini catalogue which ends in TWO days so order yours now if you like this technique!  The flower card had a little butterfly added, and the star card, we spritzed the base card with shimmer paint.  You can click on the pics for a closer look, but I love the way the shapes look once embossed:

During the weekend, I also made another card using this same technique, this time with patterened paper (Sunny Garden) instead of shapes.

I’m looking forward to our next retreat which is in July!  We’ll have from 10am Friday until 2pm Sunday for unlimited stamping and scrapbooking time!  No household distractions and all meals cooked for us!  Heaven!  Let me know if you’d like to come along!

And remember, just two days left to order from the Summer Mini Catalogue!  And if you want to join us as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, if you do so in the next 2 days, you’ll receive a FREE stamp set of your choice valued at up to $79.95!  Check out more info here or CONTACT ME!!!
